The Planetoids are a German Band based in Hannover consisting of 3 members. Jonas Sercombe on guitar doubling as lead vocals, Sven Templin on synth and bass, and Luca Ahlers on drums. This multi-faceted band has a plethora of creative perspectives bursting through their music. Their music is a blend of indie/synth pop which blends digital, analog, and glittery sounds.
The vibrant trio have a layered musical ability as they often unpack matters of the heart, mind and sciences. The Planetoids were established in 2014 and have since then embarked on a journey that gives room for their creativity to unfold purely and authentically, each member being well versed in multiple instruments has contributed to a synergy in their sound on and off the stage, they do not shy away from the quirks and abstractness of the world but at the core the visual and musical collages they create speak to the multifacetedness of the human experience.
While some songs in the band's catalog are strongly conceptional and offer a lot of interesting backstory and creative details, the band makes a point of making sure that their music stays interesting and enjoyable even if the listener isn't keen to dive in deeper. This has been rewarded in the past through official Spotify playlist placements and major radio airplay in GSA and South Africa (where the band has also been invited to play at the biggest local music festival in 2023 – Bushfire Festival).
THE PLANETOIDS have recently discovered their new trademark – the color yellow. Because of aesthetic and artistic reasons, this focus has completely transformed their visual identity, making every show a unique and unforgettable experience. Since the band originally started off as something of a party band, they still have a strong emphasis on a sophisticated and unleashed live-show that will mesmerize just about every age group.
